Greenway Pedicabs

Treehugger just posted about Greenway Pedicabs, which provides a nice, easy, and, most importantly, eco-friendly transport service.

It’s kind of fun to see how such things are popping up in the US nowadays. Here in the Philippines, pedicabs have been around since forever and are a good way to get around if you’re not traveling over long distances. It’s slow, but if you’re not in a rush it’s totally fine.

I also wanted to point out how interesting it is that people in the US find things like this as a good transportation alternative while elsewhere in the world, specifically in the places where pedicabs have been around for a long time, people find them slow, plodding, and that they get in the way of the bigger and faster vehicles. I’m sure it’ll take a long time for us to shake off the Western-inspired idea that big cars are the future.
