I always look forward to the holiday season. Part of that enjoyment is buying the Christmas tree and decorating it. This year though, I grappled with an eco dilemma – a real tree or a fake tree? Of course, I’m more inclined to buy the true blue (or perhaps true green) Christmas tree. But my husband pointed out that artificial trees can be used year after year, unlike the live trees. Sounded reasonable to me too. Now what?
Thankfully, I came across this article entitled “Oh Christmas tree, oh green Christmas tree?” courtesy of Yahoo! Green.
So now, we will buy our fresh Christmas tree from a nearby Christmas tree farm. Good thing we started checking out the local farms near our town just this weekend. I forgot to ask, though, about integrated pest management. But we still have time.
