Regarding Carbon Offsets

I saw this story on my local CBS newscast the other night. We’ve all heard about websites offering carbon offsets to counterbalance your individual greenhouse gas emissions. Unfortunately, there is no government oversight to make sure that your donation is going to the cause. The Federal Trade Commission is starting to look into these supposedly eco-friendly companies. Experts advise looking for an independent third party verification and inquiring about what percentage of your money will be used as you intended.
