Woman makes bags, stops plastic bag use

Now here’s something to show everyone how one person’s efforts can make a big difference. Liu Ying, a 78-year-old woman in China, has been making shopping bags since 1992 and giving them away to all her neighbors. She wishes everyone else would start seeing just how terrible plastic bags are for the environment, but she won’t be alone in her crusade much longer. Starting this June, stores all over the country will no longer make plastic bags available for free.
