The Bioscarf promises to protect you against pollution and viruses: an update

Back in 2016, we stumbled upon an interesting product called the Bioscarf. Priced at $89, the Bioscarf is a scarf made from 100% post-consumer recycled PET water bottles and has an N95 rating, designed to filter non-oil-based airborne particles with a size of 3.0 microns or larger.

Looking back nine years after that post and five years after the COVID-19 pandemic made masking a necessity, we decided to circle back and see if the Bioscarf is still available—and it is!

The Bioscarf, which now comes in gray, black, camo, and natural color, features G95 filtration and is made with materials such as an organic hemp and cotton blend and polyester microfleece. It’s also more affordable now at $59. G95 founder Carlton Solle made the scarf available to friends and family during the 2018 wildfires in the San Francisco Bay Area, and this stress test proved how effective the Bioscarf is at protecting against pollution.

The company has since expanded its offerings with the Biohoodie, the Biogaiter, and the Bioshield 2 mask, all part of what Solle refers to as “Personal Protective Apparel.” We’re absolutely loving this collection, which looks super sleek and low key.
