So this might actually be old news, but it’s still worth sharing nevertheless. In 2018, Dr. Merlinda A. Palencia at Adamson University in the Philippines developed Vigormin, touted as an eco-friendly way to treat wastewater and solid waste. Composed of organominerals, which refer to mineral products that contain organic carbon and are said to be abundant in the Philippines, Vigormin is a white powder that is non-toxic, odorless, and partially soluble in water.
Applying Vigormin to wastewater and septic tanks has the following effects:
- reduced total suspended solids, biochemical oxygen demand, and chemical oxygen demand
- decreased odor from septic tanks and landfills
- heavy metal adsoprtion
Ultimately, it helps treat wastewater and improve its quality.
