We’re always going to tell you to hang on to your gadgets and computer peripherals for as long as you possibly can instead of rushing out to replace them with an eco-friendly new version. But if they’re already broken, then by all means, get an eco-friendly replacement. If you’re looking for a new keyboard, you might want to consider Logitech’s Signature Slim Solar+. It’s a wireless keyboard, but instead of relying on USB charging or AA batteries, it’s powered by any light source, whether it’s sunlight or even the light in your home. A solar strip placed above the function keys takes in all the juice needed to power its internal battery, which supposedly lasts for 10 years and is even capable of powering your keyboard in complete darkness for four months. The keyboard’s body is eco-friendly too, made with 70% post-consumer recycled plastic.
The Signature Slim Solar+ is available for $99 on Logitech’s website.
